Case 51 ‘The Chalk Pit Murder’. 1947 A successful Australian politician, as well as a businessman, seems conveniently to have any who oppose him to disappear, which culminates with the discovery of a body back in England.

Case 52 ‘The Mystery Of The Bodies Under The Bridge’. 1935 This episode is about one of the most notorious multiple murder cases from the 1930s. One of the reasons that it was so renowned was the innovative forensic techniques that were used in solving a complex case that were way ahead of their time. It was a painstaking investigation to find out who the victims were and where the crime took place and to track down the culprit.

Case 53 ‘ The Killer Priest’. In February 1916, the only clergyman to face capital punishment in America was executed for murdering and dismembering a pregnant woman. He was also a rapist and suspected serial killer. This episode follows him all the way to the electric chair.

Case 54 ‘The Ill Fated Death of Irene Munro’ Eastbourne 1920 A young woman decides to take a summer break on the south coast of England. All goes well until she meets two local men, which culminates in a brutal murder on a shingle beach.

Case 55 ‘The Siege Of Sidney Street’ London 1911. A botched robbery of a jewellers shop in London leads to a triple murder and manhunt for the culprits. It ends tragically for those involved and more deaths.

Case 56 ‘The Horrific Slaughter of Emily Kaye’ Eastbourne 1924. A senseless murder by a philanderer and convicted thief which was made more terrible by the gruesome aftermath.

Case 57 ‘The Mysterious Demise Of A Good Wife’. Hay On Wye 1921. The famous case of the Hay on Wye poisoner and the only solicitor ever to be executed. Some say that he was framed, but the evidence was damning and led to the crime being uncovered.

Case 58 ‘The Croydon Poisoner’ London 1927 – 28. Two interconnected families have three suspicious deaths within a few months, preceded by another death thought to be by natural causes. Was it murder or just a terrible coincidence?

Case 59 ‘The Love Triangle Murder’ Miami 1932. Aviation’s golden couple and a suspicious death. Tragedy follows a complicated trial with another unforeseen event.

Case 60 ‘The Sinister Secret Of Constance Kent’ Somerset 1860. A three year child is abducted and horrifically murdered. Many suspects, for different reasons. No one is caught and the killer would appear to have gone free. Until a surprise confession years later that still leaves questions unanswered.
